This is a great, cornbread recipe. A great side to any chili dish.
1 Cup Whole Wheat Pastry Flour
1 1/2 tsp. Baking Powder
1/2 tsp. Baking Soda
3/4 Cup Yellow Cornmeal
1 tsp. Salt
1 Cup Buttermilk
1 Tbsp. Honey
4 Tbsp. Butter, melted
Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F. Place a 10” cast iron skillet in the oven to heat.
Mix the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cornmeal, and salt in a medium bowl.
Mix the buttermilk, honey, and eggs in a small bowl. Then add the melted butter, making sure everything is well incorporated. Add these wet ingredients to the dry ingredients bowl, and mix together.
Take out the skillet, and lightly grease with some butter, and pour the batter into the pan. Bake for 30 minutes.
